Shirleysblabblog.blogspot.com

Hello Everyone,

Well, that's presumptious isn't it, since not everyone is going to visit my blog. I'm not even sure why I have one since I'm still as yet to publish my books but who knows, maybe this will be the year.

One reason I have not been able to devote time to my writing is that for the past three years plus, I have been by my husband's side as he's battled stage 4 colon cancer. The fight goes on and we have become advocates for early detection of this terrible disease by encouraging all people approaching that awkward age (the middle years) to get a colonoscopy before it's too late to spare yourself from what my DH (dear husband) has had to endure. It is not a day at the beach, let me tell you--not for him or the family who loves him. More on this later and I'll be sharing what a day in the life of a colon cancer patient looks like. I know, dreary stuff but dear people, until you are aware, you aren't anxious to take preventative steps and this is absolutely essential.
